Allah the Almighty, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate, created human in the most beautiful way, equipped him with superior abilities, honored him, and loaded responsibilities on him by taking him as the addressee of the divine address. He did not leave him alone in this worldly life, He removed them from the darkness of disbelief, and united them with the light of faith and good morality by sending Prophets and books as divine favor and kindness. Coming into existence with the first human being, religion is an existential need for people. Religion is a set of advices on the entire life that teaches people the meaning of life, helps them establish a balance between this world and the Hereafter, and reason and soul, provides inner peace, brings love and justice to societies, turns individual and societal duties into religious-like responsibilities. People, who struggle to know themselves, the universe, and the Creator, and love and be loyal to Him, follow the Messengers and the Divine Books sent by Him, thereby aiming to grasp the meaning of servitude and truth. It is therefore important that people’s need for religion be satisfied in a proper way with authentic religious knowledge. Because the religion firstly targets people, it is highly important that the religious knowledge be always up-to-date in such a way as to enlighten their lives, that the illuminating messages of Islam remain fresh in people’s minds and hearts, and that a dynamic connection be established between knowledge and life. In this regard, the Presidency of Religious Affairs, whose aim is to satisfy the Turkish people’s need for true religious knowledge clear of superstitions and to enlighten them on topics related to faith, worship, the Prophet Muhammad’s life, and morality, has, in line with the contemporary, scientific data, planned to publish a book series called Basic Islamic Knowledge. This book in your hand, My Morality, is the fourth in the series and is prepared in accordance with the course of study for the Basic Religious Knowledge taught at courses organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs. In this book, the topic of morality that is one of the fundamentals of the religion of Islam is brought under focus. It deals with the topics of definition of morality, moral values, the importance of morality in Islam, properties of role models provided for Islam, approaches of Islam to fundamental rights, our individual and social duties and responsibilities, love in the Islamic morality, role models and important figures in the formation and improvement of our cultural heritage. It is our greatest wish that this piece or work is beneficial to readers. Effort is from us and success is from Allah.
